{"id":2284,"date":"2018-02-28T12:06:02","date_gmt":"2018-02-28T11:06:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stevebromley.com\/blog\/?p=2284"},"modified":"2019-11-06T17:44:57","modified_gmt":"2019-11-06T16:44:57","slug":"book-release-and-conference-talk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stevebromley.com\/blog\/2018\/02\/28\/book-release-and-conference-talk\/","title":{"rendered":"Book Release and Conference Talk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple of updates on things I&#8217;ve done recently&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><b>The GamesUR Book has been released!<\/b><br \/>\nI wrote a chapter on how to run interviews for researching games, which appears in the new book &#8220;Games User Research&#8221;, published by Oxford University Press.<br \/>\nThis chapter was written a little while ago, while I was still at PlayStation, and it&#8217;s thanks to the great work of the editors to bring it to fruition.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve now read the other chapters, and there&#8217;s lots of great information there &#8211; I highly recommend it for someone interested in learning about how user research applies to games.<br \/>\nSome links for the book:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gurbook.com\/\">The book&#8217;s website<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/global.oup.com\/academic\/product\/games-user-research-9780198794844?cc=gb&#038;lang=en&#038;\">OUP&#8217;s page on the Games User Research Book<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Games-User-Research-Anders-Drachen\/dp\/0198794843\/\">The book on Amazon UK<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Conference talk<\/b><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alistairgreo?lang=en\">Alistair Greo<\/a> and I co-delivered a talk at the last Games User Research conference, focused on what lessons games user researchers can learn from &#8216;mainstream&#8217; user research.
